You get quiet enough to actually hear yourself, and a voice shows up...
This job isn't for me anymore. This has to change. I want the thing I've been filing under "someday".

And then, almost immediately, a second voice.

But what if I'm wrong. What if I'm not ready. What if I regret it.

Now there are two voices, they both sound like you, and you have no idea which one to trust.

So you wait. Not for clarity exactly. For certainty.

For one of them to win convincingly enough that moving feels safe.

That certainty doesn't arrive. And in the meantime, the years do.

You already know what you want

That's the part almost nobody says out loud. You're not confused about the thing. You've been circling the same decision for months, sometimes years, and you could name it in one sentence right now if someone made you.

What you can't do is tell whether the pull you feel is your own wisdom or your anxiety wearing a very convincing outfit.

And you've done the work. You've read the books. You've journaled. You've asked three friends and then asked the internet. None of it settled anything, because more information was never what was missing.

What's missing is a way to tell your signal from your spiral, and permission to move before you feel sure.

Five days, twelve to fifteen minutes a day, in your ear

This isn't a course. There's no login, no dashboard, no set of modules sitting there making you feel guilty in three weeks.

It's a private podcast feed. It plays wherever you already listen, on the walk, in the car, doing the dishes. One episode a day for five days.

Each episode stops partway through and asks you to write something down. That stopping is where the work happens, and I say so on the tape. At the end of each day there's a short reflection, four questions, about five minutes.

And then it ends. Five days, and you're done, holding a decision you actually made.

Day 1- Two voices, both sound like you

You name the decision you're bringing to the week, and you learn the filter that separates your wisdom from your worry. By the end of the episode you can look at what's in your head and tell which is which.

Day 2- You don't have to earn the right to want it

You write down what you actually want, in one sentence, with nothing attached to justify it. No reasons, no cost-benefit, no explaining why it's a sensible thing to want. Most women can't do it on the first try. That's the point.

Day 3- Deciding before you're sure

You make the decision and you write it down with the date on it. Not when you're certain. Certain isn't coming, and waiting for it is the whole pattern.

Day 4- Courage comes first

You take the first real step within twenty-four hours and you log what it produced. This is where the evidence starts, and evidence is the only thing self-trust has ever been built from.

Day 5- When the doubt comes back

Because it does, usually on a Tuesday, and you'll want to reopen the whole thing. You leave with a short protocol for that exact moment, so one loud afternoon doesn't undo your week.

What you'll have on Friday

  • One decision, made and written down, with the date on it.
  • The first real step taken, not scheduled.
  • A filter you can use for the rest of your life on any decision, in about ninety seconds.
  • Your want in one sentence, with nothing attached to justify it.
  • A short list of evidence that you can act on your own behalf, which is the thing your confidence has been waiting on this whole time.

You need this if...

  • You've been circling one decision for longer than you'd like to admit.
  • You've read the books and done the journaling and you're still exactly where you were.
  • You want to be moving by the end of the week, not better informed.
  • You're done being handed "just go for it" by people who don't understand what you'd actually be risking.

It isn't for you if...

  • What you need right now is a therapist. That's a different and completely legitimate kind of help.
  • You're in the middle of a genuine crisis and don't have the capacity this week.
  • You want someone to tell you which choice is correct. I won't do that. I'll get you to where you can hear your own answer.

I'm Holly Toscanini

I spent most of my adult life operating on a rule I never said out loud, which was that I could have the life I wanted once I became a more acceptable version of myself. I worked very hard. I just worked on the qualifying round instead of the life.

Then a stretch of years arrived where everything came apart at once, and I had to make decisions while feeling completely uncertain about all of them. The certainty never showed up first. It showed up after, every single time.

I coach midlife women through exactly this, and I host the podcast How to Lose the WAIT. I'm not describing this from the outside. I'm turning around and talking to you from the same ground.

Before you decide, I know what you're thinking...

I already have a podcast app full of episodes I never finished.

So does everyone. This isn't a binge, and it won't work as one. Five days, one episode at a time, with built-in moments where you stop and write. By Day 2 you have your filter. By Day 3 you've decided. You're not consuming this, you're building something with it.

Can five days really change something this big?

You're not solving the wanting. You already have that, and you've had it for years. What five days solves is the specific block between your wanting and your moving. That's a much smaller problem than the one you think you're carrying, and it moves much faster.

What if my situation is too complicated for this?

Every episode has you applying the work to your decision, your fear, your circumstances. The precision comes from how you use it, not from content pretending to fit everyone. And I can hold that precision because I've been inside the same fear.

What if I fall behind?

The feed is yours. If Day 3 lands on a week that falls apart, pick it up Saturday. Five consecutive days is better, and a week that took you nine days is still a decision made.

Your next step

Five days from now, you'll have decided

Or five days from now you'll be exactly where you are, and you already know what that feels like, because you've done that version many times.
